Uber Technologies Inc

Content Coordinator

August 2021 - Present

Chicago, IL

As a Content Coordinator for Uber, I have learned what it means to be “customer-obsessed.” I write and edit internal and external support content for support agents, customers, and users. I pride myself on delivering concise, error-free prose that is simple to read and navigate. I’ve gained skills in project management, internal communications, following style guides, time-tracking, and software such as Salesforce.

I love the opportunity to work with teams across the globe to deliver support content that makes a difference for support agents and customers. I’ve become comfortable working in a digital landscape across time zones to drive results and manage projects throughout their lifecycles. As an avid eater, I’ve loved establishing support strategies and resources for premium global brands such as Domino’s, McDonald’s, and Starbucks.

Burbs Entertainment

Editor-in-Chief

July 2018 - April 2022

Chicago, IL

I will forever cherish my experience with Burbs Entertainment. It allowed me to be a major contributor to an entrepreneurial start-up that strove to give a voice to the younger generation, and I learned what it takes to grow and market a business. I established connections and developed relationships that will last a lifetime, and I’m proud of what we made.

I frequently wrote articles, including profiles, interviews, and reviews surrounding popular culture, music & film, and professional basketball. I also produced and hosted multiple podcasts and edited audio using Adobe Audition.

As Editor-in-Chief, I directly managed and edited in-depth articles for a remote staff of 15 college-aged writers, many of them just beginning their writing journeys. I organized pitch meetings and one-on-ones with writers to discuss ideas and establish a sense of comradery. In addition, I managed the site’s content schedule and social media channels using Hootsuite.

University of Iowa School of Journalism and Mass Communications

Writing & Communications Intern

September 2019 - May 2021

Iowa City, IA

My time as a Writing & Communications Intern at the University of Iowa School of Journalism and Mass Communications was invaluable for my skills as a storyteller and communicator.

Every week, I conducted interviews and wrote articles about school events, visiting guests, alumni & faculty, and students. These assignments taught me how to meet deadlines, write efficient, digestible stories, and work with editors to match journalistic expectations.

I was afforded the opportunity to produce and host my own podcast, “The Iowa Journalist.” I conducted one-on-one conversations with professional journalists from across the country, including interviews with The New York Times opinion columnist Jamelle Bouie and The Washington Post White House reporter Seung Min Kim. The experience often pushed me from my comfort zone and I learned how to effectively research guests, curate engaging questions, and became a confident conversationalist.

In addition to my writing and podcast duties, I maintained the school’s website and social media channels (Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn) through the social media management platform Hootsuite.
